Dr. Bill Akpinar

Dr. Bill Akpinar is the director of the Center for Healing in New York. He has successfully integrated Eastern and Western Medicine in his field for over 20 years. Having served as director of two major teaching hospital-based anesthesiology and pain management programs in the New York City area, Dr. Bill continues to train medical, dental, and podiatry residents. He holds numerous board certifications and fellowships, including acupuncture, pain management, forensic medicine, forensic dentistry, traumatic distress, as well as herbal and Tibetan medicine.

Dr. Bill thrives on the use of many non-traditional techniques in combination with his anesthesiology background in the field of headache and TMJ pain disorders, including music therapy (he is an accomplished musician), Chinese Heal Martial Arts, such as Chi Kung (he holds several black belts and practices various “internal” healing martial arts styles), oxygenation therapy, and has been trained by noted Chinese, Indian, Shaolin, Sufi, and Tibetan healing masters in the course of his career (including a mentorship with the Dali Lama’s personal physician, while in Tibet).

As medical director of the United States Karate Team, under the direction of his teacher and world Karate champion Terrence “Tokey” Hill, Dr. Bill has had the opportunity to apply his healing skills to the team in his travels with them. Dr. Bill now serves as medical director of the University of Natural Medicine, Santa Fe, New Mexico and is constantly searching for ways to bridge Eastern and Western Medicine and bring this knowledge to the public.


Willard H. Dean, M.D.

Dr. Dean practices holistic medicine in Santa Fe, New Mexico where he co-founded the Center for Self Healing. Although trained in general medicine, he specializes in preventive and behavioral medicine, emphasizing wellness and alternative therapies. He has been on the faculty and boards of several schools of natural healing and is currently serving to help establish certification in holistic medicine. He is a published author and is writing series of texts on the different systems of the body, their diseases and treatments. His lifestyle reflects his beliefs of health and well-being.

Chris Irene

Dr. Irene has been an instructor in the field of Biology for 20 years and has always had a passion for alternative medicine.  She is a certified Family Herbalist and the founder of Health Guide Series, a collection of brochures which combine the areas of nutrition and supplement strategies for her patients.  Dr. Irene feels that all aspects of the body need to be addressed (physically and psychologically) in order for an individual to attain maximum health.  In conjunction with that belief, she has been teaching Psychology as an adjunct professor at the University of Phoenix for the past 7 years.


Larry J. Milam, Ph.D., B.S., H.M.D.

Since 2002, Dr. Milam became President of the University of Natural Medicine, Santa Fe, New Mexico and he also plays an active faculty role in teaching nutrition and clinical biochemistry courses.

Many of his unique products are distributed throughout the world to over 60,000 doctors and professionals. Sheila Rockley, Ph.D.

 Naturopathic Care for Humans and Animals

Dr. Rockley possess an in-depth background in naturopathic care for animals and humans alike, with an emphasis on nutrition, incorporation of conservative therapies and an overall integration of Eastern and Western medicine practices.   Dr. Rockley has seen remarkable results in animal and human naturopathic practice and has published works showing the efficacy of naturopathic care.

Dr. Rockley was born and raised in Hamburg, Germany. She has had an interest in alternative medicine since early childhood and has experienced the successes of an integrative health delivery system. With nearly 20 years of health care experience, in early 2000 she began consulting independently with health care organizations and recently served as the Vice President of Physical Health Solutions for United Health Group. Her most recent research focused on the positive impact that could be attained should US health insurance companies offer chiropractic care as a covered benefit.

In addition to decreasing overall medical spending in the US, her naturopathic training and interest also lies in incorporating and utilizing naturopathic medicine both for animals and humans; allowing them to live healthier and happier lives. She has recently authored a children’s book which teaches children, at an early age, how to care for and respect our animal friends.  Dr. Rockley opened and operated an animal diagnostics and imaging company to help those individuals that were unable to afford high cost diagnostics.  She is also intricately involved in animal rescue and adoptions.   Dr. Rockley’s academic training includes a Ph.D. in Natural Health, a Master’s Degree in Business Management, a Bachelorette in Psychology and a Diploma in General Medical Studies and Ophthalmology.

Dr. Shayne is a writer, consultant and practitioner in the field of clinical nutrition, specializing in food science research and whole food nutrition. For more than ten years, Dr. Shayne has written extensively about the benefits of whole food concentrate supplementation, disease etiology relating to nutritional deficiencies, and the principles of health consciousness. Dr. Shayne earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Florida (1978) and holds doctorate degree from Westbrook University and from the University of Natural Medicine, Santa Fe, New Mexico. He is also certified as a transpersonal psychologist, iridologist, qi gong instructor and Chinese lymphatic massage therapist.

Ellen Tart

Ellen Tart Jensen, D.Sc.

Dr. Ellen Tart Jensen has been involved with natural healing and nutrition since 1979 and studying Iridology since 1983. Ellen spent four-years working side by side with Dr. Bernard Jensen, considered by many to be the Father of Iridology in the United States. Dr. Tart-Jensen spent 2 years in Switzerland where she studied natural healing methods at a health clinic. This diverse background has enabled her to work with many types of people and their problems.

Dr. Tart-Jensen also teaches classes in Iridology, nutrition, herbology, and mind/body healing techniques throughout the U.S., Canada, Australia, Costa Rica and Columbia.



Dr. Adiel Tel-Oren (known as “Dr. T”) was born in Jerusalem, Israel, where he currently authors books, sees patients in 15 clinics, and lectures extensively several times a year. Prior to obtaining his 2 doctorate degrees (in Chiropractic & in General Medicine), he studied for the Master’s Degree in Conducting, taught music, and performed as a professional musician and soloist in 3 continents.
